Jessica Simpson: “I Didn’t Know the Weight Wouldn’t Come Off with the Baby”

Jessica Simpson thought she was going to give birth to a 70-pound baby…Or at least a tot large enough to melt away a hefty portion of the massive weight she gained during her pregnancy.

In news that will surprise absolutely no one, the singer-turned-stylista is struggling to lose her baby weight after piling on the pounds while pregnant with daughter Maxwell, now four months old. Mom’s favorite dish during the nine month stretch: Good ole macaroni and cheese — aka kryptonite to the waistline.

“I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it. I didn’t know [the weight] didn’t all come off with the baby,” the notoriously curvy and dim-witted 32-year-old reveals in a new interview with USA Today.

With a $4 million endorsement deal with Weight Watchers under her belt, Jessica says she’s determined to encourage new moms to slim down in a healthy way. She’s embarked on an exercise regime, but the star admits that her infamously ample bosom is “way too big to run at this point.”

Jess — who is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson — explained:

“My weight has always been something that people like to comment on. I’ve gotten used to it. It’ll start to get boring at some point, I hope…My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiance and herself.”

Be on lookout for the hotly-awaited debut of Jessica’s Weight Watchers campaign later this month.
