Jessica Simpson has been left devastated after her beloved Maltipoo was dognapped by a wild coyote during a family outing over the weekend.

In an attempt to bring Daisy The Dog home, the Simpson family made a poster with a picture of the pooch and a request to email in any information on the dog’s whereabouts.

“My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes,” Jessica Tweeted on Monday evening. “HORROR! We are searching. Hoping. Please help!”

It’s thought that Daisy was taken from the star’s garden in Calabasas, California.

“We heard yelling and screaming coming from the direction of Jessica’s house around 9pm. I can only imagine that it was that moment that it happened because the next day we saw posters up around the neighbourhood announcing that Jessica had lost her dog to a coyote. It’s so sad,” says a neighbor.

Jessica’s followers Twitter posted a mixed collection of messages regarding Daisy’s disappearance. Some were sympathetic, and said they would pray for the dog’s safe return, while others mocked Jessica for using Twitter when her dog had been taken by a wild animal.

Simpson has had the Maltipoo — a gift from ex-husband Nick Lachey — for five years and rarely travels without her.

That’s awful but does she really think putting up posters is going to help find the dog? I live in Arizona and let me tell you, when a coyote makes off with a small animal, it isn’t likely to be seen ever again.

What do you think?
