Jessica Simpson is still mourning the death of her beloved maltese poodle Daisy — who was presumed dead after being dognapped from Jessica backyard by a wild coyote — but according to a friend of the singer and actress, Jessica is already ready for a new pup.

Instead of another maltipoo, Jess has decided to go with a larger breed — preferably a guard dog that can accompany her on outings and protect her estate in Calabasas, California.

“Jessica loves dog, but she’s terrified of getting another small dog unless she gets a big dog, too,” her friend explains. “She’s looking at German shepherds or pit bulls and wants a rescue dog,” the Simpson spy tells In Touch.
