Jessica Simpson “Come On Over” Billboard Country Singles Chart “Highest Solo Charting Debut”

Jessica Simpson could soon have the world saying Yee-Haw! The pop singer, who is presently preparing for the Fall 2008 premiere of her debut country music album, made Billboard history this week following the release of the LP’s lead single, “Come On Over.” The track, which was released to country radio last week, debuted at No. 41 on Billboard’s country singles charts, making the former Newlyweds star the “Highest Charting Debut Solo Artist” in the history of the Billboard Country Singles Chart. Jess has broken the previous record belonging to Miranda Lambert and Brad Cotter who both debuted at No. 42.
