Jessica Simpson’s rep is speaking out about the singer’s difficult opening act performance for Rascal Flatts in Grand Rapids, Michigan last night.

Jessica reportedly forgot her lyrics and fought back tears during the 38-minute set in front of a crowd of 9,000. She also remarked that she sometimes feels like quitting, and even mouthed the word “sorry” on two jumbotrons.

“Jessica had an off night,” the star’s publicist tells the AP. “She’s a perfectionist, and wanted to start some of the songs over. She always wants to give her best performance to her fans.”

This is really sad. Jessica’s obviously letting this “WeightGate” nonsense get to her. Everyone isn’t a size 2, and that’s OK. There are all different kinds of beauty. In fact, it is our differences that make this world interesting. Can you imagine how blah things would be if there was no variety and we all looked the same? While it’s obvious that she’s put on a bit of weight, Jessica Simpson is far from fat and still very beautiful…..Now those infamous high-waisted jeans of hers are another story….

How does one live under the scrutiny of the public eye which can be so terribly mean at times? Give this poor girl a break. She’s gorgeous, looks healthy, and is a much better role modle than those waif chicks flaunted all over magazine covers. Whether she chooses to continue to pursue music or not, the decision should come from her heart. Let her figure out who she is and wants to be, and move in that direction. Wishes for many blessings to her.
