Kid Rock’s newest song with a number of songs tied in, including Sweet Home Alabama, is a reminder of country rock.

Jessica Simpson on stage, I kid you not, sounded like amateurish karaoke. The karaoke tent sounded better. Every year, the crowd is phenomenal on the last night. This year, it was not. Closing acts are Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Montgomery Gentry, Brooks & Dunn… And I feel that Sara Evans got jipped by closing the night and the festival, after a “performance” by Jessica Simpson.

I liked JS as pop. She has cute songs. “When I’m With You” is my favorite song by her. It did not fit at country thunder. The show was very much a pop singer trying to be accepted in a genre that everyone thinks that anyone can get into. Yes, country fans are welcoming.

But please sound a little country.

I think Come On Over is a great song! I have always been a Jessica fan and will continue to be a Jessica fan no matter what!! She is awesome, not sure why everyone seems to think she can’t make it…
