Singer/actress/fashionista Jessica Simpson introduces her bouncing baby girl to the world on the pages of this week’s edition of People magazine, on newsstands nationwide on Friday.
Simpson welcomed baby Maxwell Drew with fiance Eric Johnson on May 1. The tot weighed in at 9 pounds, 13 ounces and arrived two weeks early via C-section.
“One of the nurses exclaimed when Maxwell was born, ‘She’s a chunk,'” writes People senior writer Suzanne Zuckerman.
According to word ’round the blogosphere, Jessica agreed to a $800,000 deal with the celebrity weekly in exchange for showing off the first snapshots of her little girl to the world. People is notorious for forking over fistfuls of cash to celebrities to pose with their new babies.
The popular publication reportedly splashed out $6 million for pictures of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s twins, Max and Emme, in February 2008.That same year People editors allegedly paid Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie $11 million for an exclusive peek at their twins Knox and Vivienne. The proceeds were donated to charity.
