Jessica Alba Hates Mexicans, Doesn’t Want To Be Called “Latina?”
Actress Jessica Alba made some controversial comments in the July issue of Para Todos Magazine, of which she is the covergirl, that has some fans screaming that the “Fantastic Four” actress hates her fellow Latin Americans.
“I’ve got cousins galore. Mexicans just spread all their seeds. And the women just pop them out.”
“My grandfather was the only Mexican at his college, the only Hispanic person at work and the only one at the all-white country club. He tried to forget his Mexican roots, because he never wanted his kids to be made to feel different in America. He and my grandmother didn’t speak Spanish to their children. Now, as a third-generation American, I feel as if I have finally cut loose.”

America is a melting pot of diversity in various cultures. Not one is better than another, we all have humanity in common!

I am half mexican and half german but born and raized in Germany. In my childhood I have listened a lot of spanisch from my mom and great-grand mother but unfortunately I didn`t started to speak it :-(. But I could translate even everything single word in my childhood (=the scientist call it "passiv"or "receptive" mother language).
When you refresh this knowledge from you childhood you can reach a high level like a monolingual native speaker. Because you have already developed the base for the second mother lanuage.
Since I am 16 I started to speak it with my mom (and not answering in geman :-)) and learned to write it too. Latin people tell my that I don`t have an accent now – but I have to practice a lot – like JLo. When I was 19 I lived one year in Mexico because I wanted to visit the land of my mom. I love Mexico :-)! And I am unique and have germany and mexican blood- this is a fact!
The big point is that Jessica has no conections with the mexican culture. Maybe she should talk more with her father and her mexican grand father and reconcile with her heritage.
By the way: My brother like "half forein/half german" has suffered a lot of racism here en Germany and he has assimilated all mexican out of his life even he hates to listen spanisch although he unterstandy everythink but he didn`t want to learn to speak it too.
He has a german familiy name (we all have) but he doesn`t look german. So the people let him fell differant and this bothers him a lot. So he's making the same like Jessica: He disclaimes everything about his mexican side and considers him a a 100% german and my mexican mom is very sad about it.
By the way: What I try to write about passiv mother language is the same what has happend to Jennifer Lopez. She already unterstood it when she was young, because her gran parents always talked to her in spanish. She said it once in a interview. She learned to speak (!) spanisch later but its still her second mother language not a forein language! Because the scientist distinguish first when you learned a language and only second how is you level (good/ bad/ passiv/activ= speaker).
