Jennifer Lopez Denies Having Hotel Maid Fired Over Autograph

She may have played a hotel housekeeper in the 2002 rom-com Maid in Manhattan, but Jennifer Lopez has little empathy when it comes to the real life “help.”

Depending on who you ask, of course.

The Booty Formerly Known as J.Lo has been on the receiving end of some pretty nasty criticism after German tabloid Bild reported that Pray Dodaj — who was until recently a housekeeper at the ritzy Melia Duesseldorf — was fired after asking the superstar for an autograph.

“I cleaned on her floor. And I am an incredibly big fan so I took all my courage and rang the bell to get an autograph. But I was rejected by two assistants at the door.”

Despite failing to get an autograph from the singer, the cleaning lady claims she was let go the very next day after Team J.Lo filed a complaint with hotel management.

“A day later the cleaning company that employed me at the hotel called and said that Ms. Lopez had complained. I was fired right there on the phone! Because of an autograph!”

The hotel director released a statement about Dodaj’s sacking, saying she had “acted contrary to the contractual arrangements and disturbed the privacy of our guests.”

Lopez, however, has denied getting Dodaj sacked, tweeting to fans:

“C’mon, thought you knew me better than this! Would never get anyone fired over an autograph.”
