Jennifer Capriati’s ex-boyfriend believes his return to the world of adult films may have been one of the reasons behind the former teen tennis star’s drug overdose in a Riveria Beach, Florida hotel room on Sunday.

Dale Rutter — who has appeared in more than 400 X-rated films as Dale Da Bone — dated Capriati for six years between 2003 and 2009 and believes his recent appearance in the film Batman XXX: A Porn Parody may have led to the former athlete’s overdose, TMZ.com dishes.

Rutter claims Capriati — who has a history of depression and drug abuse — was “hysterical” over his decision to return to porn.

Capriati was just 13 when she won the French Open junior title in 1986. The tennis ace would go on to win 14 titles during her career including three Grand Slams – the Australian Open in 2001 and 2002 and Roland Garros in 2001 – and an Olympic gold medal in 1992.
