Scents of Aniston are wafting across the Transatlantic.
Jennifer Aniston launched her eponymous fragrance to US consumers on Thursday. Aniston’s new fragrance is now on sale at Sephora.com and is expected to hit store shelves across the United States, despite reportedly lackluster sales for the scent in the UK, where it launched last summer.
In a bottle designed to reference the flow of a Frank Gehry-designed building, the actress created a fragrance that claims to evoke the scent of “sunny days at the beach and happy summer nights.”
“I wanted this fragrance to be a personal library of scent memories. For example, my love of night blooming jasmine has lasted a lifetime,” Jennifer says. “Growing up in California, I distinctly remember the scent of jasmine on summer evenings. I consider the scent of the ocean to be one of life’s most uplifting sensual experiences. No aroma is quite so purifying, humbling and exhilarating. The combination of the salty air and tropical oils reminds me of long sunny days on the beach-pure happiness.”
Aniston first launched the perfume at Harrods in London last July, initially under the name Lolavie – she later made it self-titled. Last December, reports surfaced claiming that sales of the fragrance in Britain were reportedly underwhelming, with some sources blaming the actress for not promoting it well. Aniston’s rep denied the report of bad sales:
