The Circle of Life has left eternally-single starlet Jennifer Aniston without the company of her constant canine companion, Norman. The Welsh-Corgi passed away last month at the ripe old age of 15, Aniston’s rep confirmed this week. Norman accompanied the actress through some of the most challenging years of her life and frequently joined Jennifer on television and film sets. In recent years, however, the pooch battled numerous health aliments. By October, Norm (as he was affectionately called) was so depressed, Jennifer hired a “Dog Therapist” to help him battle the blues.
“He died a few weeks ago. He was an old dog and it was just his time,” Aniston’s representative told PEOPLE Monday.
This is the first time in over a decade that Aniston will be without her beloved paw to lean on. Norman went missing for two days back in 1998, but eventually turned up unharmed at a local animal shelter.
“He’s my baby boy. Norman goes with me on location – I’ve got to take Norman,” Jen said in February. “He’s 15-years-old, he doesn’t care any more….Even back [as a puppy] he was as cool as a cucumber. He’s just a person in a dog suit.”
The Break-Up actress will move from Los Angeles to New York later this year. Jennifer recently purchased three units in a West Village condo building for $5.9 million. In a fitting tribute, she bought her new home under Norman’s name.
Jennifer is also mom to a German Shepherd named Dolly.
