Jennifer Aniston was so desperate to be in a relationship when her new movie, Marley & Me, enters a box office faceoff with ex-husband Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button this Christmas Day that her aides interviewed potential boyfriends for her, Britain’s Daily Mail claimed on Monday.

When Jen and current beau John Mayer briefly spilt earlier this year, assistants were calling around to find her a “replacement,” sources say.

An insider says: “She didn’t want to face the glare of being unattached while Brad Pitt toted [partner] Angelina Jolie around. She did not want to be single when her movie opened.”

“A friend of her agent was calling around asking for young men whom they could set her up with.”
