Jenna & Barbara Bush Open Letter To Obama Daughters

Former First Daughters Barbara Bush and Jenna Hager, who were seven years old when their grandfather, George H.W Bush, was elected president in 1988, wrote an open letter offering advice on growing up in The White House to the Obama girls, Sasha and Malia, in Tuesday’s edition of The Wall Street Journal.
When it comes to The Obama Daughters making the most of their new life in the spotlight, Jenna and Barbara make the following recommendations:
– Surround yourself with loyal friends. They’ll protect and calm you and join in on some of the fun, and appreciate the history.
– If you’re traveling with your parents over Halloween, don’t let it stop you from doing what you would normally do. Dress up in some imaginative, elaborate costume (if you are like us a pack of Juicy Fruit and a Vampiress) and trick-or-treat down the plane aisle.
– And, a note on White House puppies–our sweet puppy Spot was nursed on the lawn of the White House. And then of course, there’s Barney, who most recently bit a reporter. Cherish your animals because sometimes you’ll need the quiet comfort that only animals can provide.

– Slide down the banister of the solarium, go to T-ball games, have swimming parties, and play Sardines on the White House lawn. Have fun and enjoy your childhood in such a magical place to live and play.

The letter is clearly written by Laura Bush, not her daughters, and it should have been left on the Obama girls' pillows in the White House!!! It's still nice though.

Why would you assume that such a wonderful and thougtful letter would not have been penned by two intelligent women who have spent 12 years in the halls of the white house? It seems a shame that you would cast a negative shadow on what is a kind and loving gesture from two girls who have been in the unique situation that the Obama girrls are now embarking on.
I think it was a lovely letter that shared some wonderful insight to the hearts of the former first family.

Sarah is correct. If the letter was genuine it would have been a private matter. I doubt any Bush wrote it. Probably penned by a well paid PR firm.
