Jay Z has a ‘love child’?
A New Jersey paternity suit has been filed alleging that hip hop icon Jay Z is the father of Rymir Satterthwaite who is a 21-year-old aspiring rapper. JayZ is fighting a DNA test which will determine if he is the father.
According to the Daily News, Lillie Coley who is the godmother of Rymir Satterthwaite claims to of have been shocked to learn the paternity suit had been made public this week, although the court battle had begun five years ago. Lillie Coley said Thursday, “Right now I can’t talk to you about it,” We plan to talk to the public soon.”
Coley refused to discuss any of the specifics regarding the case, insisting that she was trying to protect her godson, stating that Satterthwaite and his mother, Wanda, will be addressing the issue in the near future. “All this attention caught us off guard,” Coley said. “We didn’t expect someone to leak it to the press. We weren’t expecting this.”
Coley is a Paralegal and Satterthwaite’s legal guardian, filed the suit in a New Jersey civil court in December 2014. Court papers show the paternity battle goes back as far as June 2010, when Wanda Satterthwaite named Jay-Z as a possible father of her son.
There was a another man who had believed to be the boy’s father since his birth but DNA testing proved he was not the biological father. Wanda tried to have Jay Z compelled by the court to submit to testing, but JayZ won a court fight by arguing there was no “extraordinary cause” involved.
The civil suit is still pending but was sealed Thursday morning Satterthwaite’s guardian accuses Jay Z of providing “fraudulent” information to the judge. The lawsuit questions the rapper’s claim that he lives in Manhattan, since he reportedly owns real estate in New Jersey.
