Leno’s last hoorah marks the end of an era as current Late Night host Conan O’Brien will debut as the new host of late night chatfest on Monday, June 1st.

Jay Leno inherited hosting duties for The Tonight Show from the late Johnny Carson on May 25, 1992.

Do u really think Conan has any chance as the host of this show? I already switch to Craig Ferguson. Leno is nausiating, there are no words to describe how aweful Conan is… In fact, Ferguson isn't all that great comedy wise either but at least he is good eye candy.

kelly tou are a dumb bitch and have no idea what you are talking about. Conan is funny as hell. Ferguson sucks and it is time for Leno to move on. Maybe you should go watch Carson Daily.

Jay, Conan, and every late night show host make terrible interviewers. Their standup material is so whitewashed as to be insulting to anyone wishing to hear decent comedy.

Being out here in the left coast, the talk shows start at 11:30pm anyway, so I don't even watch hardly anymore.

Bob Costas and Greg Kinnear were the last decent talk show hosts. They should take over Late Show and Tonight Show respectively. Dump those other losers!

    Really?..You're going with Bob Costas?

Late night TV is not aimed to be high-quality comedy. It's just an avenue to relax and catch up on the general weirdness going on in our society. I do agree that the interviews are generally terrible, but that has much more to do with the guests than the hosts.

Bottom line: If you want a great stand-up act, switch to a cable network and catch one.

Jay Leno is the best!!! Can't imagine him not being there – they should extend his contract & tell Conan to take a back seat!!

Conan's humor is clownish and he has too much of an ego for the "Late Night" audience.

Since Jay beats the others, what you think is not a predictor of what will happen.

Actually its a predictor of the opposite.

what a disappointing ending to Jay's run on the Tonight Show. Conan isn't funny: juvenile, moronic, but not funny. Why bore us with him when he's taking over the show the next week. Didn't they learn anything from Johnny's class act? Guess not. Least now i won't flip from late night to tonight show, i can stay with dave…

Been searchin' for a place to make a comment on the WONDERFUL Jay Leno Show that is moving to an earlier time….WONDERFUL last show tho…….!!!! Very surprised to read from "above" comments presenting a few "negatives"…OUCH…and sad these idiots would make such statements……Jay is superlative as a "late night TV host" ! I can't believe these folks…I believe just the opposite…Jay is NOT into his ego…he helps his guests with their own! I always watch him because of his mannerisms and presentation with guests and other aspects of the show, especially his special segments of "quizing folks on the street or more formally in the studio setting!…funny!!!!….And Jay always had the best guests on the show! He will be missed, but not really, since we can still enjoy him at an earlier time, etc.! :-) And Conan will do very well also, I believe. And now we can all have 2 of the best Tv hosts!!!! Conan is an excellent "host". Note: I'm not making this into paragraphs either…to save space…anyway…Jay's and NBC's last show for him was very funny, poignant, and much more! Enjoyed my ole buddy James Taylor too….we grew up together in Chapel Hill, NC, me more so with his older brother Alex tho (we miss him!)… We all had some great times together, etc!!!! The other kids were a little young then, but appreciated them later in life, not really knowing them but reading/hearing about them in their lives….think I remember their names: Livingston, Holley, Huey (sp?). Alex lived with me and 2 other guys for awhile in the mid-60's until we all went our own ways…Spent alot of time at their family's home and the kids own "home" on their property while growing up in Chapel Hill!!! :-) And my wife and I actually babysat for "sweet baby James" on Martha's Vineyard during a visit, where they, the Taylor kids, use to live in the early years, after high school, college, etc.! OKAY….

** Go Jay..tku NBC, thank you all involved with the Jay Leno show….it was SUPERIOR to the "counterpart, David" on CBS….but won't go there with lots of negative remarks! Best of luck to all involved…hope Kevin and the band go with Jay..they were lots of fun to listen to and watch duing the show, and excellent musicians, also. And Conan, I believe in reality he will be fine….onward with greatness! THANK YOU ALL AGAIN…and Jay….We all love ya

and will be right with you at your next step in life! And Conan tambien! Take care! Grant…Retired UNC-CH Administrator, Chapel Hill, NC Go Heels

Johnny's class act? Are you kidding? I loved the tonight show with Johnny Carson, but the way he and Letterman acted when Leno was chosen to replace Carson showed what self absorbed adolescents they were. And the way Carson treated Joan Rivers when she didn't wait for the "king" to vacate and she decided to start her own show? Letterman still takes shots about not getting the show..and he doesn't mean to be funny. These two men are NOT class acts. I never remember Johnny going on the tonight show with Leno…..oh wait he didn't…..rather wouldn't. Leno did not treat Conan that way. Leno is the real class act.
