Whispers about Janet Jackson’s dream wedding to beau Wissam al-Mana have been heating up the blogosphere since the holidays. But don’t hold your breath waiting for an invitation in the mail: The two crazy kids are already hitched!
In their first joint statement as a couple, the pop legend and the Qatari business confirmed the news exclusively to Entertainment Tonight:
“The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year, we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony. Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children’s charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy.”
Michael’s baby sis, now 46, started dating the 37-year-old tycoon in 2010. Wissam is the managing director of Al Mana Retail, which represents A/X Armani Exchange. He is also a shareholder in Saks Fifth Avenue.
Oh — did we forget to mention that the dreamboat is also worth a reported $1 billion?
Of course, it’s safe to assume that the diva didn’t marry for money. Jackson is worth an estimated $150 million.
The couple is staying on other details about the ceremony. Janet’s well-versed on the art of keeping secrets. The thrice-wed “Pleasure Principle” hitmaker was married to ex-husband Rene Elizonado for a decade before news of the nups hit the tabs. Ironically, that wasn’t until the Mr. and Mrs. were in the midst of a divorce!
