There’s nothing wrong with 15-year-old children having sex with their adult boyfriends. I mean, he was only 18. He might not have liked condoms. He might have been allergic to them. I might have gained a pound or two while on birth control. You don’t know the story! Besides, where I come from in [Anonymous Southern State], USA, it’s perfectly acceptable for adult men to knock up 14-, 15-, 16-, 17-year-old girls. The saying down here is “old enough to bleed, old enough to breed.” You northerners think you’re so advanced with your ability to control reproduction. Down here, if we want to get the crops in, we have to breed ‘em young. Jaime is an example of how every proper Southern girl should be once they hit puberty: knocked up.
