Jamie Dornan has become known for his method acting techniques, so it’s no surprise that he stalked a woman in order to play a serial killer in The Fall. As you may know, Dornan went to a real sex dungeon in order to research his role as billionaire S&M lover Christian Grey for his role in Fifty Shades Of Grey and now he has revealed the lengths of which he has gone to research his serial killer role in the Netflix show.
During an interview with the Los Angeles Times on Monday, the actor revealed what he went through in the name of research. He said, “The first series, I did do a couple of things to try to get inside [his miind]. On the tube, which is our underground system… Can we get arrested for this? Hold on…this is a really bad reveal: I, like, followed a woman off the train one day to see what it felt like to pursue someone like that.”
After she exited the train, he pursued her from a distance just so that he could experience what his character might feel when stalking his prey. He said, “It felt kind of exciting, in a really sort of dirty way. I’m sort of not proud of myself. But I do honestly think I learned something from it, because I’ve obviously never done any of that. It was intriguing and interesting to enter that process of ‘what are you following her for?’ and ‘what are you trying to find out?'”
The Fall stars Jamie Dornan as serial killer Paul Spector and Gillian Anderson as Metropolitan Police Superintendent Stella Gibson. Anderson’s character is investigating a string of murders in the Belfast area and is pursuing Dornan’s character. Are you a fan of the show?
