While that’s a very cute idea, the reason they don’t have an older bachelor/bachelorette is because of ratings.

Simply put, nobody outside of your age demographic wants to watch old people fall in love.

The contestants are young and vivacious, mostly great looking with rocking bodies. It’s these aspects, when multiplied with the premise of the show, that make it so compelling and exciting. The pursuit of love alone doesn’t make people tune in.

I wish you two the best of luck but sadly, I doesn’t envision any day in this lifetime where old people frolicking on the bachelor would make television, let alone prime time. Hardly anybody under 45 would tune in!

I agree with Pam Christian. Why isn’t there an older version of the Bachelor or Bachelorette? We aren’t out to pasture yet. I am divorced, 58 & would love to meet a woman around my age. They are “RARE” & very hard to find. It would be a great venture for ABC.

As I watch The Bachelor, I realize the need to address the older population. I am 56. Five days after my 34th wedding anniversary, my divorce was final. He had an affair with another woman. This did not affect my self-esteem. I am very OK financially, but am usure about future relationships. So, I just want to propose an older Bachelorette!

Did you know that on this season of The Bachelor Jake Pavelka rents RV’s for his ladies and they hit the road. They stopped at several locations between Agoura Hills and San Francisco.
