The former VH1 reality personality who carried on a clandestine 3-year affair with Tiger Woods has issued an apology to the golfer’s devastated spouse, Elin.
Jaimee Grubbs spoke out about her romance with Woods in a tabloid interview last week, but in a candid TV interview, which will air on Extra tonight, Grubbs says she’s sorry for the pain she’s caused the star’s family.
“I couldn’t describe how remorseful that I am to have hurt her family and her emotionally… (but) if it wasn’t me, it was going to be other girls. I did care about him. I didn’t do it for superficial reasons. I didn’t do it to purposely hurt her.”
While Jaimee, 24, hopes to one day be “friends” with Tiger, she is insistent that he deceived her about his martial status until they were “already in a relationship.”
“I wouldn’t have pursued him if he didn’t pursue me. I mean, when he did, I just figured he was single and I didn’t think to ask.”
The cocktail waitress claims to have bedded Tiger more than 20 times since the two met during a party in Las Vegas in the summer of 2007. She says she was heartbroken to learn that the fallen role model had more than a dozen mistresses.
“Seeing that [he allegedly had other women] was devastating. It hurts,” Grubb says. “I’ve learned from everything that I did. Had I not acted on emotion, I probably would have taken a second to think of how it was going to affect my family and the impact it was going to have not on my life, but on everybody that’s been involved in this.”
