Jacqueline Bisset Explains Infamously Awkward Golden Globes Speech

“For those who have given me sh*t, like my mother always said, ‘Go to hell and don’t come back!'”

English actress Jacqueline Bisset has an explanation for why she appeared so…er…loopy as she accepted the gong for Best Supporting Actress in a Series/Miniseries at Sunday night’s Golden Globes. And if you thought it was because the 69-year-old Bisset had enjoyed one too many Cosmos before hitting the red carpet, you’d be mistaken.

The Dancing on the Edge actress says her strange address — which included everything from an s-bomb to beauty advice — was all the result of a miscommunication.

“I was told my category was to be the second to the last (rather than one of the first). I was wondering why there was someone with a camera filming me. I was completely out of it.”

Yep, that explains it.
