PEOPLE Magazine sources say that embattled Grey’s Anatomy star Isaiah Washington will be returning to the set of the hit ABC series for the first time since entering counseling for homophobia.

I.W missed Sunday’s Screen Actor Guild Awards and is still on shaky ground with some co-workers: “There’s a little awkwardness here,” said Katherine Heigl, who plays Dr. Izzie Stevens on the series.

“I appreciate the fact that I have been given this opportunity and I remain committed to transforming my negative actions into positive results, personally and professionally,” Isaiah said in a January 23rd statement.
