Rumors have been swirling that X Factor is in the process of inking a new deal. with Britney Spears?

We’ve heard other names like LeAnn Rimes but it seems that Britney’s fiance/agent Jason Trawick has been working hard on a new contract for Spears. An insider on the X Factor team is reporting that it was in fact Simon Cowell who approached Britney for the job.

Earlier this year Cowell cut judges, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, after the first season of the singing competition opened with lower than expected ratings.
