The last dancer standing on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars Season 18 will foxtrot (or rumba…or tango) into the ballroom for the final time on Monday night, but an injury threatens to keep Dancing pro Mark Ballas sidelined from the big finale.
Ballas had to be transported from CBS Studios in Los Angeles to a nearby hospital Sunday afternoon, after seriously injuring his shoulder during rehearsals for tonight’s live DWTS performance. The incident occurred while the fleet-footed 27-year-old was performing a complicated lift with partner Candace Cameron Bure, 38.
A Dancing rep explained:
“His shoulder popped out during a lift and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital. He was treated and released, but it remains unclear whether he’ll be able to perform on Monday’s show.”
In 2007, Ballas dislocated his left shoulder just before his closing number with Cheetah Girls actress Sabrina Bryan.
