It’s impossible to define what constitutes “good” or “bad” music…it is all solely based on opinion. I always found it better to focus on the positives, i.e. finding what I like in every artist, rather than what I don’t like. And I recommend taking a good listen to a piece of music before casting it aside or making snap judgements.

But wait a second… I’m 24, not 20!

Have you ever listened to Justified? Yes, it’s pop music, but it’s fun and definitely more mature than anything NSync put out (which I never listened to at 15, but can actually appreciate now!).

I guess I just don’t see why liking a certain kind of music makes someone immature. Rather, I think it’s mature to admit you like something that might be considered silly or lame by the masses. What’s the harm in enjoying something and admitting it?

Justin does not have a more mature sound. The only mature audience he has is his 20 year old fans who were 15 when NSync was popular. And the fact that they still listen to music like that makes them as immature as they were when they were 15.

Love Justin…honestly i do but the drugs thing is just stupid! It doesnt make look like anything other than a fool! To believe I defended him during the whole Usher or Justin debate!

yeah, I definitely agree that Justin is going for a more mature audience with this new album. And he’s a talented guy. But when any public figure says something like “I’m just like everyone else, I get completely plastered,” it sends a certain message. It’s just think it’s too bad he feels he needs to intentionally dirty up his image.

I think Justin has a more “adult” sound than a lot of his pop counterparts. Britney and Xtina are mainly listened to by pre-teens, and what kind of role models are they? There was a time when Jessica Simpson was wholesome and now she’s a whorebag.

With his first album, it was pretty clear that Justin was not trying to appeal to a younger fanbase, and his music was a more mature fusion of hip-hop and pop. I think this album will be an even further departure from traditional “pop” music, and with Timbaland producing, it will hit more on the hip-hop side of things. I think he’s making great pop music, and he really has nothing to hide.
