THE CAPTAIN & CO-PILOT BOTH SHOWED EXCEPTIONAL COURAGE, THEIR MASTERFUL EXPERTISE WAS BOTH INSTRUMENTAL AND BUT A PRELUDE – WHICH EMPOWERED MANY OTHERS TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE WHAT ONE AND ALL WOULD TRUTHFULLY HAVE TO CONSIDER – ‘THE MIRACLE ON THE HUDSON’.

Captain Chelsey B. Sullenberger III, as well, every other pilot who as a kid ever dreamed of flying and now find themselves professionally living their dream, have prepared well for the potential and eventuality of an in-flight disaster.

As true as every child who aspires to be the baseball player that wins the game with a ‘walk-off’ Grand Slam, so is it true that every pilot has dreamt, secretly or otherwise, of landing a plane with its landing gear (wheels) up – of course, miraculously, with all passengers on board safe & sound, maybe the luggage not so fortunate – lest this would be anything but a dream.

No pilot worthy of their childlike, always truthful honesty would tell you otherwise. The souls of 155 persons aboard US Air Flight 1549 owe their very lives to the ‘prepared’ promise of Captain Sully III’s life long dream – cool, calm and collectedly doing what he does and loves best.

‘Sully’, much as a physician who dedicates their life being faithful to the Hippocratic Oath, did exactly as professional protocol demands: He was first on board and the last person to leave his ‘ship’.

Incredibly, as heroic as the skills required of the Captain to safely land on the Hudson, so was the incredulous timing of the available watercraft and the skill levels of their personnel. ALL persons, on deck, made available for the task of ‘deplaning’ whose efficacy could only be orchestrated by DIVINE INTERVENTION

SURELY, THE HAND OF GOD BLESSED EACH AND EVERYONE INVOLVED
