“How I Met Your Father” — CBS Considers “HIMYM” Spinoff
How I Met Your Father? It could be closer than you think.
How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) is in the midst of its ninth and final season, but CBS is considering keeping the laughs going with a potential spinoff of the side-splitting comedy, Deadline Hollywood said Thursday.
The tentatively-titled How I Met Your Father is the brainchild of HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and Emily Spivey, the mastermind behind NBC’s defunct Up All Night. The proposed new series puts a female spin on the original premise by introducing a new group of New York friends and chronicling one member of the group’s quest to meet her future husband.
The new characters may even be introduced in the series finale of HIMYM this new gang of pals would also hang out at MacLaren’s Pub, which would allow “a link between the two gangs” and open the door for future guest spots from the HIMYM crew.
Stay tuned, the spinoff is still in the conceptual stage.
