Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Carmen Ibanez in Starship Troopers

Starship Troopers didn’t have the huge Hollywood budget of some Sci-Fi films, but it did have number 30 in our countdown: Denise Richards. Before her role as Lt.Capt. Carmen Ibanez, Denise filled many roles in shows such as Friends, Seinfeld, and Married with Children. She also has her own “reality show” on E! Denise Richards: It’s Complicated.

29. Ornella Muti

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Princess Aura in Flash Gordon

When Ornella Muti made the cross from Italian films to British films, she hit gold with her portrayal of Princess Aura in ‘Flash Gordon’. Ornella has also stared as Sofia Provolone opposite Sylvester Stallone in the 1991 film ‘Oscar’. Teenage boys took to their rooms when they watched ‘Flash Gordon’, and that is why Ornella has made our list.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Sarah in Labyrinth

She may be an Academy Award winner, but that doesn’t mean that Jennifer Connelly only does stuffy, high brow films. Labyrinth, which she co-starred alongside David Bowie, is not only responsible for jump starting her very successful career, but it also helped her make our list! Jennifer has dabbled in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre since Labyrinth, but nothing has had quite the same impact.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Daena in Planet of the Apes
When we got the news back in 2000 that there was going to be a remake of the cult classic Planet of the Apes, we were skeptical, but when we saw that Estella Warren was going to be in it; we thought the film could stand a chance. We were wrong. In spite of the movie being one of the worst remakes, the audience was treated with the beautiful Estella Warren, so I guess every cloud does have a silver lining.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Barbarella in Barbarella

Jane Fonda has certainly had her fair share of controversy over the years. But unfortunately, this list isn’t ‘The Hottest Women to ever publicly criticize War and Government’. So we’ll be recognizing her for her lack of clothes and involvement in sexual situations in the sci-fi classic, ‘Barbarella’. The film, which is set in the future, is the story of a woman who is given a mission to help save earth, and along the way discovers sexual intercourse, and a machine that kills through sexual pleasure. Tell me you don’t want to see this movie!

25. Lena Headey

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Sarah Connor on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Though she wasn’t as ripped as the original Sarah Connor, Lena Headey was still a pretty tough woman. Terminator fans everywhere rejoiced when Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was announced. Although Lena wasn’t hugely accepted by the fan base at first, she quickly showed that she had what it took to do the job. That’s why she has landed herself on our list of Hottest Women of Sci-Fi.

24. Malin Akerman

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Silk Spectre in Watchmen

When your mother is a Swedish model, you automatically have a better shot at making any of our lists. Combine that with the fact that Malin is gorgeous, talented, and decided to take on the role of Silk Spectre, and you know she is a shoe in! Malin got her start in modeling, but she is transitioning successfully to film. If you just can’t get enough of this beauty, be sure to check her out in her upcoming film, ‘Elektra Luxx’.

23. Jeri Ryan

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Seven of Nine on Star Trek Voyager

Half human or not, Jeri Ryan is hot on Star Trek Voyager! Trekies had something new to fantasize about when Jeri began filming as Seven of Nine back in 1997. After a very public divorce, including allegations that her husband wanted her to perform random sex acts all over town, Jeri finally quit her work on Star Trek Voyager. All I have to say is if Jeri Ryan is aboard the Voyager, then “Beam me up, Scotty”.

22. Morena Baccarin

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Inara on Firefly and Anna on V

Whether it is commanding an alien invasion of Earth on ‘V’ or travelling the galaxy in ‘Firefly’, Morena Baccarin does it with class. She certainly earned her spot on our list with her portrayal of Inara Serra on Firefly. This hot lady of sci-fi isn’t disappointing to her fans and we hope that unlike Firefly, V gets a second season!

21. Evangeline Lily

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Kate on Lost
If I were ever to have my plane crash on a mysterious island that was inhabited by strange scientists and mysterious events, I could only hope that it would be with Evangeline Lily. This hot lady of sci-fi is most famous for her role as Kate Austen from the hit television show Lost. As Lost nears the premiere of its final season, I hope that we get to see a lot more of this kick ass lady.
