The final three contestants on the eighth season of American Idol were greeted with hugs, parades, and other forms of celebratory fanfare in their hometowns on Friday.

Adam Lambert’s old high school put on a show — complete with cheerleaders, a marching band, and thousands of fans and students — in celebration of their hometown hero.

Friday was declared “Danny Gokey Day” in Milwaukee. The spectacled powerhouse spent the afternoon performing at Faith Builders International Ministries, where he volunteered as the song director before trying out for Idol.

Kris Allen, of Conway, Arkansas, treated a cheering crowd to a concert in Little Rock on Friday.

Fox taped today’s events and will air the footage on next week’s American Idol.

Danny Gokey is an awesome vocalist!!!
There are concerns on how you’ve “down played” Danny Gokey’s hometown reception here in Milwaukee, WI- It seems that your article deliberately omitted Danny’s hometown well-rounded, multiplistic/honorable receptions in his home town – Milwaukee, WI.
FYI: Danny was welcomely received and spent honorable time at the Fox 6 TV station here in Milwaukee then moved on to receptions at radio station for an interview, then visited AT &T where he was awarded his own personalized phone; also visited landmark sites in the city including Harley Davidson Museum, Milwaukee Art Museum and Discovery World and then was honored in a parade downtown Milwaukee- after which his motorcade was escorted to mini-concert in which Harley Davidson sponsored for Danny’s at Milwaukee’s Summerfest grounds on Harley’s stage – this is where Danny drew a crowd of nearly 26 thousand people; after performing his 30 – 40 min (5:30 pm) concert with a live band whom Danny, himself put together in a short time prior to his return to Milwaukee; Danny moved on to sing the National Anthem at the Brewer Stadium and was given honors to throw the opening pitch to the Brewer vs. Chicago Cubs game.
He was at the Faith Builders International Ministries for less than 2 hours that afternoon.
Question: It seems that your article deliberately omitted Danny’s hometown well-rounded and multiplistic/honorable receptions for achieving a position as one of the top 3 final 2009 Idol contestants — why?????
