Hilary Gets Swank On the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Hilary got her on star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday. The star of “Freedom Writers” (which features the plot of a White teacher swooping in to save “at-risk” youth that has been done to death) took the dedication ceremony to reflect on less than star-studded beginnings.
“I remember my mom using a roll of quarters to call agents from a pay phone and telling agents they should sign me.” Hil’s mom was also at the dedication ceremony. Taking the 2325th Walk of Fame star, Hilary turned Hollywood on it’s ear with her potrayal of slain FTM transsexual Brandon Teena in the 2000 film “Boys Don’t Cry,” based on a true story. The film earned Swank her first of two Oscars-the second coming in Clint Eastwood’s “Million Dollar Baby.”
