Hilary Duff On Faye Dunaway Feud: “No Regrets!”
On The Bonnie Hunt Show Tuesday, actress Hilary Duff says she doesn’t regret publicly dissing Hollywood screen legend Faye Dunaway.
The drama started when Faye, 68, pooh-poohed Hilary’s acting skills after learning that the 21-year-old would reprise her role as “Bonnie Parker” in an upcoming remake of the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde.
Hilary shot back, saying “None of my fans even knew who she is.”
“I’d be mad, too, if I looked like that now!” she added.
In her chat with Bonnie, Hilary admits her remark was mean, but says, “It’s not OK for people to take stabs at you and to say mean things for no reason.”
“She started acting way later than I did so I think I have time to grow and grow with each project,” she says. “I am learning and work hard at my craft.”

Faye is an international goddess. Hillary is a teen-queen. There was nothing bitchy about what Faye said. Bottom line is that Hillary is a likable cutie-pie who is a celebrity and a teen-queen. But she is not a serious actress. I am on Team Dunaway…and I think Faye had a right to say what she did. Can you imagine if they cast Reese Witherspoon in the remake or Naomi Watts? How about that delicious vixen Kimber from Nip/Tuck? I think Faye would have had something different to say. What would have been nice is if somebody had coached Hillary into saying something self-deprecating akin to “Faye is totally right….I am no actress…but I am going to prove her wrong…I only hope I can at least partially fit into Faye’s shoes.” If she had been coached into saying something like that she would have had everyone, including Faye, eating out of her hands. Young people today need to respect seniors, and seniors have earned the right to say what is on their mind. WE LOVE YOU FAYE!!!!!
