Lindsay Lohan still has a tough time keeping her well-manicured fingers off other people’s shiny jewels. The troubled starlet has reportedly once again stumbled along the rocky path toward a career comeback.
Yep, you heard right: La Lohan’s been tagged as a suspect in the theft of $100,000 worth of watches and sunglasses, law enforcement snoops told TMZ Monday. Lohan and her assistant, Gavin Doyle, are being investigated after multi-millionaire Sam Magid reported the items stolen from his Hollywood Hills home last week.
Here’s what we know so far: Lindsay attended an all-night party at Magid’s home on Sunday, Aug. 19. The following day, Magid called the cops to report the items missing. He later recanted his story — (Can someone say “payoff?”) but that won’t do much to help everyone’s favorite little klepto.
That’s because cops in Los Angeles are continuing the investigation because they may have independent witnesses who can identify Lindsay and Gavin as the thieves. Detectives reportedly contacted LiLo’s lawyer for an interview Monday, but were turned away.
Lindsay’s still on probation for her arrest for stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice jewelry shop in 2011.
The ex-child star, now 26, had seemed to be on the road to a comeback after posing nude for Playboy and subsequently landing the role of Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime made-for-TV movie Liz and Dick.
She’ll also appear alongside porn star James Deen in the saucy comedy The Canyons, opening next year.
