There is still a question as to whether Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are legally married. And The Hills stars are hitting out at reports claiming their marriage is a hoax.

In a commercial promo for next week’s season finale of The Hills, the couple seems to be making their Mexican marriage official in a California courtroom.

Or are they?

According to the Associated Press, an unidentified Los Angeles Superior Court official is claiming that MTV was granted permission to shoot in a courtroom in Beverly Hills after-hours and the person that takes the bench on the show is not one of their judges.

In a segment scheduled to air Monday, Heidi and Spencer tell Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM morning radio show that their Los Angeles ceremony was official and legal.

“We checked the confidentiality box, so good luck people,” Spencer says in response to the reports.
