Heidi Montag: “Miss Universe Performance Was One Of The Best Nights Of My Life”
Heidi Montag Pratt sure is catching a lot of heat for her lip-synched and poorly-choreographed performance at Sunday night’s 2009 Miss Universe pageant. Nonetheless, the reality villainess says the critically-panned showing has been highlight of her brief singing career.
Some career this has been!
Donning a sequined bra and flesh-colored pants, the newlywed star of The Hllls took the stage to perform her new single “Body Language” before a live audience at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas.
“last night was one of the best nights of my life!!!! i had so much fun!” Heidi wrote on her Twitter page on Monday. “my first performance! thank you God!”

I thought Heidi Montag’s performance was just as good as any of the lip syncing wannabe Barbie types in today’s music industry. She’s WAY better than Vanessa Hudgens at mouthing her words and stepping around. She blows Katie Holmes’ prerecorded lethargic fake singing out of the water. And I’d take Heidi’s girlish attempts at singing over Miley Cyrus’s guttural manlike caterwauling any day.
So someone put her in an outfit that looked like a Britney Spears outfit from years ago, so what? Lots of women have worn that same outfit, and Heidi’s had noticeable differences; her boobs are way bigger, there were black stripes down the sides, the pants didn’t fit and made her lower region look very strange. Is that her fault? I’m sure a stylist put her in those clothes and someone told her to dance that way. She’s young. Her eyes are gorgeous and sparkly and unique. Britney Spears is a slow eyed mutant.
Also, if you are watching Miss Universe, or American television, or American Movies, or any pop culture anything produced by this country, you are courting mediocrity.
That being said, I like Heidi. She’s a sweetheart. She’s aces.

First of all I can’t even believe that Trump even considered her for a “performance” at an event which would be watched by a worldwide audience. Is this really the best of we have to offer? Are we not embarassed? He clearly has a sense of humour.
So let’s recap what we’ve seen: clearly visible, badly lipsynched “singing” which was obviously overly synthesized, as she forgot the lyrics to her own song and mouthed the wrong words at times; flailing around stage trying to keep up with her own dancers and choreography, leading to a very amateurish dance, with little hops here and there (probably singing 1-2-3 in her head), it almost reminded me of a 10 year old’s dance recital… Extremely amateurish. Overall I was embarassed for the girl and for myself for watching, and had to look away as I could not stop cringing.
If her eyes are gorgeous, sparkly and unique then please let her parade around just batting her eyelashes (also don’t let her open her mouth.. ever..again). What is most frustrating is that she actually believes she did an amazing job and it was the best night of her life.. is she on a different planet? Has she completely lost touch with reality?? I don’t understand why people condone and encourage this type of behaviour. I hope this is the last I will ever hear of her “singing” career.
