Heathers is coming to the small screen.

The dark teen comedy, which featured ’80s It Girl Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, and Shannen Doherty, is being resurrected on TV, according to Variety.

A television series based on the iconic 1988 movie about young lovers Veronica and J.D. (Ryder and Slater), who take on The Heathers, the most popular clique in school, is being developed by FOX, Sony, and Lakeshore Entertainment, the trade paper reported Thursday.

“We had the title, and talked about doing a film remake at times,” according to Lakeshore’s Gary Lucchesi. “But doing it for TV seemed like a fresh and original idea.”
