Hayden Panettiere’s father was arrested Monday morning on allegations of spousal abuse.

Alan Panettiere has been charged with one felony count of domestic violence for allegedly hitting his wife, Lesley, on the cheek.

According to TMZ, Alan was taken into custody after an argument broke out in which the father of the Heroes beauty accused Lesley of “hanging” with another man and “disrespecting” him while the family had dinner at Eva Longoria’s Beso earlier in the evening.

Lesley called the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Department directly to report the alleged incident. Officials say there were visible signs of injury on Lesley.

Alan remains in custody on $50,000 bail.
