Hailey Glassman Denies Involvement In Jon Gosselin Burglary
An attorney for Jon Gosselin’s former girlfriend says the twentysomething did not burglarize and destroy the reality star’s Manhattan apartment over the weekend.
Gosselin is reportedly strapped for cash and in default on a $90,000 loan he received from former flame Hailey Glassman earlier this year. After spending the holidays in Pennsylvania with his eight children, the former star of TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8 returned to his Upper West Side apartment Saturday only to find that it had been burglarized and ransacked. Glassman was questioned by police after the incident and released on Saturday night, according to The New York Post. Her lawyer has dissmissed the burglary as a “huge, huge, publicity stunt.”
“It appears someone is trying to frame her,” Glassman’s lawyer Anand Ahuja told The Post. “I don’t know who that is. The last time she was in the apartment was Thursday Dec. 24.”
Jon and Hailey still live together although she is now dating celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman.
“Haily had been half the rent, but Jon was so desperate for cash that he pocketed her money. When Hailey found out, she hit the roof!” a tattle divulged on the pages of the Jan. 4 issue of The National Enquirer. “He hasn’t paid the rent on his New York City apartment for four months, and they’re getting ready to toss him out.”
Jon’s television, CD player, a Nintendo Wii game and some kitchen items were stolen from the apartment and some of his clothing, bedding and other furnishings had been slashed with a butcher’s knife, according to his lawyer Mark Jay Heller.
A note allegedly calling the unemployed 32-year-old a “cheater” was signed by someone who used Glassman’s name and left at the scene.
“The greatest damage from this vicious, mean spirited and heartless crime was perpetrated not on Jon’s property and possessions, but on Jon Gosselin himself, who experienced a traumatic, emotional, roller coast ride having just shared a joyful family gathering with his children during their Christmas,” Heller said in a statement Saturday.
