H&M Marimekko 2008 Collection; Finnish Designer Marimekko Designs Collection For H&M

Finnish fashion house Marimekko is the latest designer name to agree to create a collection for H&M.
The fashion house are using some of their extensive back catalogue of patterns from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s for their collaboration with H&M and will produce a line of around fifty pieces to be launched in April 2008.
The collection will feature floaty tunics, skirts and dresses and for men there will be shirts and shorts.
“Our design team has long admired Marimekko’s vivid prints and colours. When our designers came up with the idea of creating a collection with Marimekko prints, it felt natural and just the right time,” H&M head of design Margareta Den Bosch
“The summer collection 2008 will be joyfully fresh like a vitamin injection,” she added
