Somewhere in a giant walk-in kitchen off up in the sky, food fanatic Julia Child just grimaced. On Monday, publisher Conde Nast Publications shut down production on several magazines; including Cookie, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride, and perhaps most shockingly, Gourmet, the nation’s oldest food publication; as the publisher wages war against a devastating advertising slump.
