Gossip Girl, The CW’s cult teen drama, is being adapted into a manga — Japanese-style comic book.

Gossip Girl: For Your Eyes Only will revolve around the scandalous lives of a clique of elite New York City private school students, borrowing characters and storylines from the series of novels which inspired the hit TV show, according to Yen Press — who will be publishing the manga.

“There are few series in the publishing world that have been as impactful or successful as Cecily von Ziegesar’s Gossip Girl,” Yen Press president Kurt Hassler said in a statement Sunday. “The novels have captured the imaginations of young women around the world.”

Hassler hopes to prove that graphic novels can appeal to young women as much as they do to young men.
