We hear mother-daughter duo Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson are anixious to work together and eagerly considering a number of film projects, including a comedy inspired by the ’60s television series The Beverly Hillbillies, as well as a remake of Goldie’s 1980 hit Private Benjamin.

Must we drag Jed & Granny into this?

An tipster tells The Globe’s Shelby Loosch: “This time around, Kate would play the title role and Goldie would play Doreen Lewis, the tough Army captain originally played by Ellen Brennman.”

The other project Kate and Goldie are tossing around would see Kate playing a glamorous fashion designer, living in Los Angeles, whose life is turned upside down when her uncouth mom, portrayed by Goldie, shows up in the City of Angels to elbow her way into her daughter’s glitzy life.

Man, talk about people living up to their stereotypes. We didn’t need the original movies and we sure don’t need remakes. Our greatest hope is that the only people who would think to finance these films were heavily invested in a ponzi scheme and now can’t afford to.
