Nicole Kidman has asked longtime friend George Clooney to be the godfather to her unborn baby with hubby Keith Urban.

After denouncing Scientology and reconnecting with her Catholic roots, the Oscar-winning actress plans to have her new child baptized in the Catholic Church and has selected her co-star from 1997’s The Peacemaker is the ideal godfather for the tot.

“Nicole asked George to be her baby’s godfather, and he has agreed,” a celebrity mole reports to Star Magazine.
