“Glee” Creator Reacts To Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Snub
Turkey? We don’t need no stinkin’ turkey! Ryan Murphy, creator of FOX’s fall hit Glee, says he “understands” NBC’s decision to pull the show’s musical cast from the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

On Monday, the network tossed the cast of Glee from next month’s 2009 Turkey Day broadcast, allegedly because the innovative show has proven a ratings winner for NBC’s fierce competitor. Word is NBC requested that parade organizers rescind an invitation to the Glee cast to appear at the holiday event for fear that it would “amount to too much promotion” for the popular show.
Sour grapes, anyone? In the past, the parade has featured performers from rival shows, including American Idol and High School Musical. Well, not this year.
“I completely understand NBC’s position, and look forward to seeing a Jay Leno float,” Murphy cracked to Entertainment Weekly about the diss.
