“Ghostbusters 3″ Could Go Into Production By Winter 2009
Dan Aykroyd says plans for a third Ghostbusters film are coming along nicely and fans could see casting and shooting begin on the new feature before the end of the year.
In a new interview with The Los Angeles Times, Aykroyd reveals that many of the big names from the Ghostbusters franchise — including Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson — are now on board for the long-awaited third film, and it looks like production could begin as early as this winter.
The plot for Ghostbusters 3 would see New York City’s original ghoulchasers handing over the agency to a “new generation” of fighters, including a few female members.
“I’d like it to be a passing-of-the-torch movie. Let’s revisit the old characters briefly and happily and have them there as family but let’s pass it on to a new generation.”
