George Takei & Husband On “The Newlywed Game” Oct. 2009
Star Trek actor George Takei and husband Brad Altman will go where no gay couple has gone before when they appear on the second season of The Game Show Network’s The Newlywed Game, kicking off Oct. 12.
“George and I are thrilled. It’s pretty historic for us,” Brad says. “It’s going to be a great experience for both of us to see how well we really know each other after 22 years together.”
Takei, who played Sulu on Star Trek in the late ’60s, married Altman last September, two months before the California Supreme Court upheld a voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage. Their marriage remains legal.
The updated version of The Newlywed Game, which first aired in 1966, now stars Carnie Wilson.
