George Stephanopoulos Offered “GMA” Co-Anchor Gig
George could be the new guy on GMA: ABC News has offered George Stephanopoulos the job of Good Morning America co-anchor, although it’s still unclear whether the political analyst will accept the position, an ABC executive close to the negotiations told The Washington Post Thursday. Stephanopoulous, the current host of the Sunday political talk show This Week, would likely have to move from Washington to New York for the new AM gig.
Stephanopoulos is the top contender to fill Diane Sawyer’s job in the morning after she takes over for the retiring Charles Gibson as World News anchor later this month.
