George Michael may be on the mend after battling drugs and copping jail time – but it looks like after 15 years, his longtime partne has finally had a gutful.
Why — if he weren’t sober, this would call for a round of bourbon shots!
Texas-born businessman Kenny Goss, 51, recently severed ties with the “Last Christmas” star, 47, after 15 years together after supposedly growing fed up with the pop legend’s wild lifestyle. For those not in-the-know, just last summer George — who has long struggled with addiction — served an eight-week sentence in London’s gritty Pentonville Prison and was fined for driving his Range Rover through the front window of a British photo shop shortly after a bender. Though he claims to be addressing his drinking issues, George calls himself “The Poster Boy for Cannabis” and is reportedly seeking counseling for marijuana addiction.
It’s all become a bit too much for Kenny.
“The writing has been on the wall for some time. There are only so many second chances Kenny was prepared to give,” according to a friend of the couple who asked not to be identified told The Sun. “He’s been loyal to George from day one, but that hasn’t always been reciprocated. Kenny runs an incredibly successful gallery. With Kenny in the US, they spend so much time apart – and that’s got worse over the last couple of years,” the pal says. “It’s really sad, but hopefully this could be the wake-up call George needs.”
In an interview with BBC Radio 2 that is set to be broadcast Monday and Tuesday, Michael seems to take responsibility for his storied history with drama.
“This was a hugely shameful thing to have done repeatedly. Karmically I felt like I had a bill to pay. I went to prison, I paid my bill.”
