Comedian George Lopez is adding late-night host to his resume.

TBS has just anounnced that the former ABC sitcom star and Latin King of Comedy will host a “groundbreaking” new late-night talk show on the network, beginning in November.

According to the cable network, George’s new show will be filmed in “an outdoor street-party atmosphere and a high-energy crowd,” along with celeb guests and live performances.

George’s just happy his new cable connections mean he can curse on TV.

“I don’t know if this dude is going to regret saying this to me, because I am a little bit out there when it comes to standup, but the head of TBS said, ‘George, we are cable so take some liberties with the language,’” George says. “I think that may come back to bite him on the a$$. You look at Bill Maher on HBO. Incredibly funny and it does have some bite to it because of language. You don’t have that option on NBC. I have that option. I would rather have that bullet in my gun than not have it.”

George has already booked pals Samuel Jackson, Eva Longoria Parker, and Dane Cook for the pilot episode.

“I am not a white male, so I am of color already,” he adds, “You put me and Craig Ferguson together and you will see a huge difference already. I am going to bring a more eclectic group of actors and a more eclectic group musicians from ManĂ¡ to Santana to Slash and Garth Brooks. I know some pretty high-profile people in Hollywood, in music and in comedy. They all seem to be supportive of the idea.”

George shot the pilot on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, he hopes to continue doing so when the show launches.

The still untitled series will debut on TBS Mondays through Thursdays at 11 p.m (ET/PT) this fall.

I like George Lopez, too. Funny guy. So far, the plan is to film the show on the Warner Bros. Lot in Burbank, but that could change.

What do you think?
