Gene Simmons: “Adam Lambert Ruined His Career With Gay Confession”

Gene Simmons is convinced American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert “ruined” any shot he has at a career in mainstream music after publicly confirming his rumored homosexuality in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine earlier this month.

“He’s enormously talented, best talent ‘American Idol’ has had, but I think he killed his career because now the conversation is not about his talent but about his sexual preference. He’s done. You’re forcing people to deal with issues they may not be interested in,” the former Kiss star explained in an interview with AOL over the weekend.

“Life is unfair, and the masses don’t all live in L.A. They live in Wisconsin and Nebraska, and you’re on crack if you think the same rules apply there. My advice is still the same, shut the f*** up, just sing and let people say whatever they want. But I do wish him the best because he’s got all the talent in the world,” says Simmons, who performed onstage with Lambert during the Idol season finale last month.

“If only the world was not homophobic, but it is. I would be the first one to vote for equal rights for gay women and men, and get the church and the state to stop telling everybody how to lead their lives, but do I think he’s killed his career? Oh, in an instant. I hope I’m completely wrong. I hope he becomes the next Beatles and proves me wrong.”

Simmons got it wrong. People, most people anyway, are more matured now. My friends and I voted for Adam and will buy his records pre-outing and will do the same post-outing IF the music is good.

Gene right after Idol called Adam a “powerful and attractive man” and said he could come out on tour with Kiss anytime. What’s wrong Gene, you afaid people might think you have a thing for Adam so you have to denounce his gayness? Grow up.

Does he have talent, sure he made it pretty far. But screaming like that, promoting makeup, black nailpolish, well, let’s just say that is just part of the reason he is NOT an “American Idol”. Exactly what Gene said, in LA maybe, goes along with the rest of the freaks! A nice married Christian man, good voice, etc. That is someone I am glad one, someone my kids can look up and aspire to be… period!

This is hypocritical considering Gene and Paul Stanley were notorious for self promoting their sexual preference towards multiple women partners. Didn;t hurt their career.. Gene tried to carefully to make this out to be about sexuality period…… but the the so obvious hypocrisy coming from Kiss of all bands paints the real picture, that Gene believes gays should stay in the closet because all of us outside his world (LA) are a bunch of ignorant homophobic rednecks.

In reality, Gene Simmons is the one coming across as homophobic……telling a gay person that coming out of the closet will hurt his career.

What hurts career’s is using your platform as an entertainer to make constant political statements and actors singers acting as if they were scholars or government officials. Not coming out of the closet…..who cares?
